CD Release Party - Grupo Latin Vibe

Awilda SantiagoGrupo Latin Vibe: Mr. Tom Mattioli (Vibraphone/Coro). Mr. Anibal "Tito" Rivera (Lead Vocal/Gonga). Mr. William Paul Rodriguez (Piano/Coro). Mr. Carlos Velázquez (Bass). Mr. Victor Rendon (Timbales). Mr. Heriberto Rodriguez (Bongos). Ms. Awilda Santiago (Vocals). The inaugural performance for "Grupo Latin Vibe's" CD release party was conventionally ushered by Ms. Awilda Santiago, who by the way does vocals with GLV. We where treated like royalty. But much to my surprise, Ms. Santiago was treating everyone in the same manner.

Tom MattioliBefore I go on I must tell you that walking into Park Side Lounge where the group meets religiously on Friday nights to make people forget about every problem that might exist, has that East Side Village look and sound, with the ruckus of people, rock and casual pool playing that goes on there. You would never think that a swinging session is going on walking into the lounge.

The combined efforts of Mr. Tom Mattioli and Anibal "Tito" RodriguezMr. Anibal "Tito" Rivera, have truly captured the vibrations and spiritual ambiance that existed in many of the 70's after hour clubs . It resembles Bobby Rodriguez Y La Compania playing in the "Nest" on 116th Street East of 3rd Avenue.

The groove is idealized by the people in the lounge. Remember that GLV  also plays at Willie's (The house of Latin Jazz) in the Bronx. The band has succeeded in cultivating "El Sofrito Crudo" that many aspiring musicians grasp on their way to becoming a permanent fixture in the business.

I want to personally thank the band for their interpretation of Happy Birthday, I really enjoyed it . Until next time , please come down to Park Side Lounge on Houston and Attorney and check out the institution that's known as "Grupo Latin Vibe".

Check them out, drop me  an e-mail and let me know what you think about the group.  While you are there, pick up a copy of this extraordinary CD .

Later from Enbreve.com yours truly Elvin Acosta .
