Rita Quintero.....

Tennis anyone?..  “Was the dream my father had for me, but fortunately, I decided to run straight towards the piano and sing.” And sing she did.  She bellowed into the depths of the classics, standards and modern musical genres revealing that her love for music had no limitations.

Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Rita grew up and embraced the heartbeat of the city’s music industry. After graduating from the University of Miami, School of Music, she started working the club scene. Her well-known and established local performances would soon take a turn for “session time” at recording studios.  She has sung background vocals for Frank Sinatra, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Alejandro Sanz, Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, and many others. After completing the Evolution World Tour with Gloria Estefan, Rita is now touring with Shakira on the Mongoose Tour.

Rita’s musical dimensions also evolved into singing jingles for radio and television. You have heard her voice on advertisements for McDonald’s, Gerber, Pepsi, Bud Lite, Coca Cola, Telemundo, Hanes, Lykes, and a multitude of station identifications.

Rita’s time behind the scenes has given her the expertise to produce with a fresh new sound. She is currently working on a personal project, as well as projects for a handful of other talented artists.  Rita makes it real!

EDITOR'S NOTE

We caught up with Rita while on tour with Shakira on her Mongoose World Tour, in Zurich Switzerland (the power of the Internet and the kindness of great friends (Bella, we love you!!) and much to our surprise,  we found a regular person behind the spotlight. Now doing an interview is hard and it only gets worse when you are behind the anonymity of the internet, but guess what folks, she is real. After exchanging the basic formalities, we moved on to what turned out to be a pretty normal conversation rather than a rigid interview. I found myself searching for questions to ask as my instincts were more towards an open chat. So we rambled and slipped in a question here and there. To make a long story short, Rita is quite impressive and we will be publishing that interview in a future issue, look for her sound bytes to be posted on this site very soon.

Did you know that Rita has appeared on over 78 Cd's? From Celia Cruz to Frank Sinatra, her versatility as an artist speaks for itself. Remember "Where in the world is Rita Quintero?" is an ongoing article only found on enbreve.com.
