Albeit, that its a long time since those days (we won't even go into how long), the neighborhood has indeed retained its familial atmosphere. It is here nestled between Taylor and Thieriot, on Westchester Ave, that you'll find one of the Bronx's (yes DA BRONX'S) best kept secret. Ready..... Willie's Steak House, located at 1832 WESTCHESTER AVE, BRONX, NY Tel: (718)822-9697. At Willie's you'll find great food, good company and a swinging jazz scene. My personal favorite is Wednesday night (Pay attention now!). If you are into Latin Jazz and want to have a great time, then, Willie's is a must for that mid-week escape.

There are times when going back home is definitely worth
it, as I found out when I recently visited the old neighborhood, or
should I say the area where my aunt Hilda lived and where I, as a teenager was
more than willing to visit as it was the most happening place I knew.
